The Cherry Blossom necklace is designed with tree branches that wrap around the neckline emulating the natural structure where blossoms spring to life.
An existing mold was used in the kiln to construct the branches with finely ground brown glass. Sheets of copper were formed into the flower blossoms using a hydraulic press. Gold leaf was added to the surface of the copper flowers contrasting with the dark gloss of the glass branches. Each branch was connected with sterling silver jump rings.
