3D Design Project: A 3D Puzzle was created using multiple techniques. First shaping clay for a 3D form. Next, Rhino was used to draw the shape that was molded with clay. The shape was then multiplied and pieced together in the software to create a sculpture. Creating the shape in Rhino allows the piece to be exported and laser cut out of wood. 20 small 1 in x ½ in were cut for a smaller puzzle. The larger puzzle had 10 blocks laser cut to make 5 in x 3 in x ¾ in blocks. The other 5 blocks were hand sawed using the band saw and other machines. This shows the importance of learning how to use hand tools and the precision of machine tools.
